VISUAL ART

Propelled by all he had learned in London, Arjun returned to India in 2003 to set up his own studio. His first body of artwork, entitled ‘Portals of Perception’ was exhibited at Rafaael’s Gallery, New Delhi, in August of 2008. This debut solo show was met with critical acclaim and sold out on the first day.

In the wake of the success of his exhibition, he established The Nirula Family Company, and The Nirula Family Art Trust in 2009.

Envisioned as an Artist’s Representative and Art Investment Service, The Nirula Family Company had their first show, entitled ”Captured Glass” in 2010. This was a collaborative effort, focused on stained glass, and held at The Academy of Fine Arts and Literature, New Delhi.

In the years that followed, the organization curated several successful exhibitions including: a group show entitled “India: Imagined in the Present”, “Dhyana Roopa” showcasing the works of Abhishek Singh, a showcase of the works of Bengali Kalighat artist Kalam Patua, as well as an additional solo show of Arjun’s mixed-media works entitled, “Samsara”.

He also produced and edited Krishna: A Journey Within by Abhishek Singh, which was Image Comics’ first collaboration with India-based creators.

The Nirula Family Art Trust continues to nurture artists and artisans based in the sub-continent.
